MotionMeter turns your iPhone into a bicycle computer and pedometer. Using the GPS unit, MotionMeter tracks the current, maximum and average speed along with trip and total distance along with elapsed time and direction (if available). With a simple horizontal swipe MotionMeter displays the current and starting coordinates, distance from the start and altitude information. MotionMeter is configurable from your iPhone settings page. It provides for Imperial, Metric, or SI units, and the total distance can be set and reset. A GPS tweaking section allows the user to choose between the built in speed function and a custom speed mechanism specifically designed to work at walking speeds. The custom speed mechanism provides user configurable distance and time filters. Please note this application REQUIRES a gps unit. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
